TUITION:
Tuition will automatically be debited on the first of each month from the debit or credit card on file. We do not take checks, or cash for tuition payments. Tuition remains the same regardless of a 3 week or 5 week month, regardless of absences on the students behalf.
LATE FEES:
Tuition is due on the 1st and considered late after the 7th of each month and is subject to a $20 late fee.
TUITION CANCELLATION:
Clients may cancel their scheduled monthly classes with 30 days' notice as long as the recital permission slip has not been signed and your child is not part of any competition team. No refunds will be given after tuition has been processed. If for any reason you cannot continue lessons that have been paid for, a credit for future classes may be issued at the director's discretion.
LATE TO CLASS:
If a student is more than 10 minutes late to class, and/or has missed stretching, the student will not be able to participate in class due to the risk of injury.
MISSED CLASS/MAKE-UP CLASSES:
Please notify instructor of known absences. As we get closer to performances, and in the month prior to our showcase, absences should be avoided as they may result in the student being underprepared.
ZERO TOLERANCE BULLYING:
Velvet Movement and its staff can dismiss or remove any student or parent from the studio for any rude, illicit, disrespectful behavior or misconduct toward any other parent, teacher, or student.
FAQ & General Information
WELCOME TO VELVET
Welcome to Velvet Movement Dance and Cheer Academy. We are so excited to have you as a member of our inaugural season!
Within this packet, you will find important guidelines and policies, as well as general etiquette and expectations for class and attire. Please read this packet in its entirety and reach out to us with any questions.
Each class will include a style appropriate warm-up, stretch, technical training, terminology education, and choreography by a qualified instructor. Each semester students will be provided individualized feedback, and will work with their teacher to set goals that inspire growth. Students will be provided supplemental assignments to be completed at home to complement the work done in class; strength training, stretching challenges, etc.
All registration, communication, and billing will be done through the “Click Here to Register Link.”
General Etiquette & Expectations for All Classes:
-
Attitude: Positivity first. Be respectful to your instructor and classmates. Clean up your area after class and leave the space as you found it.
-
Punctuality: Arrive on time to allow for warm-ups and stretching. There is a 15 minute break between each class to allow you to come and settle in early.
-
Attire: See provided guidelines below. Wear appropriate attire for each style and ensure it is clean and in good condition. Avoid clothing that is too baggy or restrictive.
-
Hair: Hair should be neatly secured in a way that allows for movement and doesn’t obstruct vision.
-
Jewelry: Minimal jewelry is recommended for safety and comfort (e.g., stud earrings, none for cheer).
-
Footwear: Only wear the designated shoes for each class to protect the floor and prevent injury.
